The Dog Leg is in the Metraloop family of products. It incorporates the same proven hose and braid technology but in this case at right angles to each other.  This gives the benefit of absorbing movement from two different runs of pipe.  Another advantage is that the dog Leg stays in the original path of the pipping, making it the most compact way to absorb pipe movement.  For all these reasons the Dog Leg is often used in Value Engineering a piping system

Like all the products in the Metraloop family of products, the Dog Leg does not develop thrust loads, and this results in almost eliminating the need for guides, simplifying anchor design when compared to in line bellows expansion joints.  When you place a Dog Leg in your line, you instantly reduce the stresses in the line.
