The Metraflex PG-PRE insulated spider pipe guide provides lateral restraint of a piping system, allowing the pipe designer to control pipe movement and prevent bowing or buckling of the piping system.  This style of pipe guide does not take the place of pipe supports, which are still required.

The PG-Pre ensures the pipe is isolated from the structure thermally and electrically.

We recommend EJMA (Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association) guidelines are followed for guide spacing.  Consult Metraflex for guidelines for curved pipe and for riser design.

• Insulation Characteristics:
  • The Metraflex Model PG-PRE is fabricated with Johns Manville T-1200 Calcium Silicate insulation that is water and vapor resistant.  This is a very important feature, especially for chilled water since standard calcium silicate insulation absorbs moisture and water.
  • 450 PSI compressive strength per ASTM C656, Type II, Grade 5
  • K-Factor: .62 @400⁰ F in accordance to ASTM C-518
  • Meets ASTM C-533, C-585, C795, E-72 and E-84. Flame Spread -0-, Smoke developed -0-.
